Deadlines

  • Applications open: May 16th, 2024

  • Applications closed: 

    • for students needing VISAS, June 30th, 2024

    • everyone else, October 1st, 2024 

  • Enrollment open: July 16th, 2024, 9AM

  • Enrollment closes: October 18th, 2024, 12 AM

 

General Procedure

The admission procedure occurs in two main stages:

APPLICATION: An internal committee evaluates the candidates on the basis of their curricular achievements and their eligibility

ENROLLMENT: Upon being favorably evaluated, the candidates are given the possibility to enroll.

The details of these two steps (and the eligibility requirements) are slightly different depending on whether you require a VISA or not and whether your Bachelor degree is from an Italian institution or not. The step by step instructions are as follows:

Application

If you possess (or are going to possess by March 31st 2025) a three-year Italian university Bachelor Degree in the Degree class L-Sc.Mat. (Materials Science)

Eligibility.

  • English Language Competence: You must have a B2-level competence in the English language (as detailed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment – CEFR) certified either by a University or by another accredited agency.

How to submit your application

Students should apply using the appropriate form (link for submitting the application; link for registration in the University information system ESSE3). Applicants will be informed about outcomes of the pre-evaluation starting from July 15th, 2024 by email. A positive pre-evaluation results in an Acceptance Letter, and applicants can proceed with enrolment. 

In case you have not yet received the degree but you expect to receive it by March 31st 2025, submit the application anyway.

 

 

If you possess (or are going to possess by March 31st 2025 a three-year Italian university Bachelor Degree a Degree class different from L-Sc.Mat. (Materials Science)

Eligibility.

  • Scientific Competence: you must have earned the following ECTS

    • at least 21 ECTS in these chemistry sectors: CHIM/01, CHIM/02, CHIM/03, CHIM/04, CHIM/06

    • at least 21 ECTS in these physics sectors: FIS/01, FIS/02, FIS/03, FIS/04, FIS/05, FIS/06, FIS/07, FIS/08

    • at least 18 ECTS in these mathematics sectors: MAT/01, MAT/02, MAT/03, MAT/04, MAT/05, MAT/06, MAT/07, MAT/08, MAT/09, INF/01 or specific courses of informatics/statics

  • English Language Competence: You must have a B2-level competence in the English language (as detailed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment – CEFR) certified either by a University or by another accredited agency.

Note: Students that do not possess neither a degree in L-Sc.Mat, nor the minimum number of ECTS listed above can contact the Orientation Officer, Cristina Sissa (cristina.sissa@unipr.it) in order to obtain information about the curricular requisites that are required for admission.

 

If you possess (or are going to possess by March 31st 2025) a non-Italian university Bachelor Degree 

Eligibility.

  • Scientific Competence: your eligibility will be evaluated by an internal committee on a case-by-case basis, and based on the transcripts you will be required to submit at the time of application.

  • English Language Competence: You must have a B2-level competence in the English language (as detailed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment – CEFR) certified either by a University or by another accredited agency.

How to submit your application

Students should apply using the appropriate form (full information here: link). Applicants will be informed about outcomes of the pre-evaluation starting from July 15th, 2024 by email. A positive pre-evaluation results in an Acceptance Letter, and applicants can proceed with enrolment. 

In case you have not yet received the degree but you expect to receive it by March 31st 2025, submit the application anyway.

Enrollment

If you have received the acceptance letter from the evaluation process BUT you DO require a VISA to study in Italy.

 

Visit and then register on the Universitaly portal and apply through your reserved area to obtain the final validation of your qualifications and obtain an entry VISA to Italy.

After completing the registration on the portal, you will be able to access your pre-enrolment form. When filling the pre-enrolment, remember to select the University of Parma, choose your desired degree course and follow the procedure.

While filling the form, you will be asked to specify the Embassy or Consulate where you will apply for the entry VISA. In case you have completed the pre-evaluation procedure, please remember to attach the response letter you got from the University of Parma.

- STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR UNIVERSITALY PRE-ENROLMENT

 

If you have received the acceptance letter from the evaluation process AND you do NOT require a VISA to study in Italy.

ITALIAN/EU National

Once the outcome of the  evaluation is completed (when required), student can register on our website and proceed to matriculate/enroll online.

Non EU Nationals

Once the outcome of your Universitaly pre-application has been confirmed, please check the requirements and the access procedures for the chosen degree course, register on our website and proceed to matriculate/enroll online.

Among the documents required to finalize the matriculation/enrolment process, a copy of the Tax Code (Codice Fiscale) is required. The Tax Code is issued by the Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate) or by the Italian Embassy/Consulate competent for your territory. Self-produced tax codes using Internet simulators are not allowed (see below). 

Contact the Italian Embassy or Consulate to find out the requirements for obtaining the Tax Code and the entry VISA. Find all the information on the procedures in the "Studiare in Italia" portal.
