Specialist Social Worker - Welfare Area Manager - Coordinator / Service Manager Functions The Specialist Social Worker:
- performs planning, organisational and management functions for social and health services, leads teams and coordinates the services provided and the staff employed in these services.
- coordinates social diagnosis and intervention projects with reference to the main areas of family, juvenile and social malaise; - periodically evaluates and verifies the interventions carried out by the structures and services they belong to (public or private); - plans information, awareness and prevention programmes with reference to the different forms of psycho-social malaise; - uses and experiments with advanced and innovative social service methodologies to decode the complex needs of individuals, families, groups and the territory.
- carries out psycho-social counselling, planning of mediation interventions in the family, juvenile, social and criminal spheres and manages the organisation of resources in both public and private social spheres.
 
Competences - ability to understand the regulations on social policies and the organisation of services; - high ability to plan interventions, to organise and coordinate service structures for different types of users; - ability to relate to people in order to identify situations of distress of individuals or groups; - high ability to negotiate and collaborate with other operators and public institutions.
 
Employment (as an employee and more rarely as a freelancer) in public structures (local health institutions, local authorities, ministries) and private and third sector structures in the areas of personal services.
Graduates in the LM-87 class can take the State examination, the passing of which allows them to be entered in the register (Sect. A) of specialist social workers.
Expert in the study, management and control of social phenomena - Social researcher Functions - designs and directs studies and research in specific fields of social intervention social policies, territory and environment, organisation and work - analyses, designs and evaluates social policy and corporate welfare programmes; - designs and directs studies and research in relation to social exclusion, immigration, new welfare and social policy programmes, institutional innovation, changes in the labour market, welfare activation policies, social media, participatory processes and governance, territorial social capital - builds and activates networks on the territory, promoting partnerships between public, private, third sector and citizens - promotes and coordinates networks between businesses, public institutions, third sector organisations and citizens.
