Course presentation - video

Why in Parma?

The profession-oriented degree course in 'Quality and procurement of raw materials for agri-food' trains food technicians who are experts in the evaluation, selection and procurement of raw materials for the industry, catering and large-scale retail trade. The professional will be the link between producers (agricultural sector) and other stakeholders in the supply chain, including consumers.

The raw material is studied in all its facets so as to characterise it and predict its suitability for a specific process or use. The qualifying educational objectives are centred on the fundamentals of food technology, and integrated by aspects of plant and animal production, materials science and technology (for the food industry) and legal aspects in the field of agriculture. The strength of the course and its uniqueness lie in the intensive laboratory work (approximately one third of the CFUs) and the internship in private companies (approximately one third of the CFUs).
