Why in Parma?
Health, well-being and healthy, active ageing are key requirements for ensuring two of the priority goals of modern Western societies: a high quality of life and the sustainability of healthcare systems in the light of current and future demographic and health trajectories.
A practical approach to healthy lifestyles is required to achieve these goals, with nutrition playing an essential role. This master's degree course focuses in particular on the effective use of products - foods, supplements and supplements - used for health purposes. In addition to the aspects of appropriate nutrition, the course addresses and develops the skills required for the preparation of products specifically formulated to ensure and promote the health of individuals without resorting to, or at least reducing, the use of drugs.
These products represent a world 'in-between' with regard to the traditional products of the pharmaceutical and food sectors, and as such require transversal but distinct skills and knowledge. Parma University is the ideal place to study this contemporary aspect of Nutrition, as it has a Department dedicated exclusively to 'Food and Pharmaceutical Sciences', with lectureres who are experts in this field.
