Course units and programme of study

The programme of study is the set of course units (compulsory and elective) that must be taken during the course of study in order to obtain a degree. The course units are divided by academic years.
Submission of the programme of study is compulsory and is required for the choice of curriculum, registration for examinations and completion of the teaching evaluation questionnaires. Submission is made through the Esse3 system.
The programme of study varies depending on the academic year of enrolment (cohort) and the subject areas covered (curricula). To see the list of course units that can be included in the programme of study, select the academic year of enrolment and, if available, the curriculum in the menu below.

How the programme of study works

The programmes of study differ according to the curriculum. Included in the plan are:

  • compulsory course units;
  • restricted-choice course units within a predetermined group of course units;
  • course units at the student's free choice (free ECTS credits).

The programme of study must be submitted online by the student, for each year of the course, using the ESSE3 system.

It is permissible to submit a programme of study with options other than those envisaged for the individual curricula, provided that the plan is consistent with the achievement of the Course's educational objectives: in this case, the programme must be submitted to the Course Council for approval prior to submission.

Compilation of the programme of study

Only current students and students in good standing are allowed to complete and change their registration.

All information on how and when to fill in is available on the programme of study page on the Department's website.
Information on validations of examinations and training activities and on prior career assessments can be found on the Transfers and transictions page.

Programmes of study and contact person

The programmes of study are published below, broken down by academic year and by enrolment mode (full-time or part-time).

The professor in charge is Prof. Marco Gentile, President of the Degree Course.

General information on the submission of programmes of study (how to fill them in, choice of curriculum, choice of the course units, etc.) can be obtained from the Student Tutor Service.

In order to request information on specific cases (e.g. validation of examinations, changes to the plan to be submitted to the Course Council, etc.), you should contact the contact persons for the programmes of study:

Specific directions for the Literature Course

The choice of free ECTS credits can be made among the courses offered by one's own course or among those offered by other three-year courses offered by the University in the current academic year.

First- and second-year students are allowed to take free ECTS credits in advance (TAF D).

Second-year students are allowed to take the internship in advance (TAF F).

Third-year students are allowed to include in their programme of study up to 12 ECTS credits in addition to the minimums laid down in the education system: these examinations, once included, become part of the student's plan to all intents and purposes and must necessarily be taken before graduating.

Please also note that:

  • students enrolled on a part-time basis (part-time) must complete the plan on paper by contacting the Course Didactics Service;
  • in the event of justified didactic problems, a student not completing the course within the prescribed time may submit a request for amendment to the Course President for approval by the Board; amending the programme of study implies enrolment in the current academic year and the consequent possibility of graduating from the first useful session of that academic year.
